Despite filing for divorce 22 months ago, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s custody battle is still ongoing – yes, really.

When Angelina Jolie originally filed for primary physical custody of their six children back in 2016, Brad Pitt kept a relatively low profile, and although we knew they were disputing over custody in court, little news has since emerged.

Then two months ago, the former couple’s divorce took a turn, with a court order issued over the custody of Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 9-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The verdict? Angelina was reportedly required to give Brad more access to their children and help improve their relationship, with Brad given unrestricted phone rights and summer visitation.

This week however, Angelina spoke out, claiming that Brad has yet to pay any meaningful child support, and it’s safe to say Brad’s not happy with the accusations.

‘[Pitt] has a statutory duty to pay child support. As of present, [he] has paid no meaningful child support since separation,’ Angelina’s lawyer stated in the filing on Tuesday. ‘Given that the informal arrangements around the payment of the children’s expenses have not been regularly sustained… for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file… for the establishment of a retroactive child support order.’

Brad Pitt’s team however were quick to respond, claiming that the Fight Club actor had paid more than £1 million in costs and had loaned his ex-wife £8 million to help her to buy a house.

The statement made the most noise however when it suggested that Jolie’s child support claims about Pitt were a ‘thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage’.

There has been no immediate response from Angelina Jolie’s representatives.

We will continue to update this story.
