There’s no wedding like a royal wedding, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to know that how extravagant the weddings dresses and accessories are.

Meghan Markle recently dethroned Kate Middleton as the royal with the most expensive wedding dress, when she walked down the aisle in her custom Givenchy gown, which reportedly cost £375,000.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge’s Alexander McQueen dress was priced at a ‘reasonable’ £200,000.

But who won the prize for the most costly wedding day tiara? Kate or Meghan?

Royal wedding tiaras

Neither as it turns out. According to Deborah Papas, gemologist and jewellery expert, Princess Eugenie’s was the most precious, being valued at a cool £10m.

She borrowed the 93.70 cts cabochon emerald tiara, which was hand made by Boucheron in 1919, from her grandmother the Queen.

Papas told the Express, ‘With such strong historical provenance, from Mrs Greville to the Queen Mother, and now the Queen, an elegant jewel such as this would be estimated to fetch in the region of £5-10 million at auction.’

Meghan’s Cartier crown, also part of the Royal collection, an art deco bandeau of diamonds originally made for Queen Mary in 1932, is value at more than £2m.

Last but not least, Kate’s famous scroll tiara from the Queen’s collection. It features 149 baguette-cut diamonds as well as an 739 brilliant cut diamonds, and is estimated at £750k to £1.2m.
